Service

Service to Many Makes and Models

Even the best equipment available will need service.  Our steam cleaners allow you to provide maintenance cleaning to the boilers of the machines to help reduce the need for repairs.  That being said – there are so many parts inside your machine and just like any product your purchase, those parts will wear over time and have an estimated useful life.

We offer a no charge equipment evaluation during the life of your machine.  We can receive and evaluate your machine and provide a report of necessary repairs at no charge to you.  Please call ahead to arrange your service.

There are some general notes that can help prevent unnecessary problems with the machine.  These are outlined in your operating manual and listed below.

WE WILL BE UNABLE TO REPAIR MACHINES IN WHICH CHEMICALS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE BOILER OR IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN SPECIFIED IN THIS MANUAL.

ü  DO NOT PRESS HARD – The heat and pressure of steam and correct use of accessories will do the work for you.

ü USE TAP WATER– do not used distilled water and avoid using softened water. Cold water is best.

ü DO NOT STORE MACHINE IN AREAS WHERE TEMPERATURES CAN DROP TO FREEZING OR BELOW – even when drained, there can be damage to components when the machine is exposed to freezing temperatures.

ü ATTACH ACCESSORIES SO THAT THEY FIT SNUG AND FLUSH – ensure safety slide locks (red, green or grey) are firmly in place. Ensure o-rings are correct – two in good condition at every connection.

üFOLLOW DRAIN PROCEDURE WEEKLY – always perform drain procedure when the machine is cold and unplugged for at least six hours.

üSTOP USING YOUR MACHINE if you notice steam leaking.  Continuing to operate the machine in this state can cause serious damage to other parts of the machine.

If I Need Help, What Do I Do?

We are pleased to provide exceptional warranty and service capabilities for our customers.

We are extremely efficient, factory trained, and dedicated to doing service on SteamKing Systems, so we are good at it, fast, and we keep all necessary parts in stock.

We have customers across Canada and into the U.S. and we are able to service them all.  We deal with a repair immediately when it comes in, and usually complete it same day. Use of couriers speeds the process, at a reasonable cost.

If your SteamKing is not working properly – not turning on, not heating up, not building pressure or ejecting steam at points other then the end of the hose – you may need to send it to us for repair.

PLEASE NOTE – There should NEVER be any chemical used in the SteamKing.  Tap Water is the ONLY thing that you should put in the reservoir.  Chemicals are not meant to be boiled.  The result is usually a toxic sludge that presents health concerns, damages components in your SteamKing and VOIDS your Warranty.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING you can do to prolong the life of your SteamKing and maximize its performance is to regularly perform the Drain Procedure.

When you send us your SteamKing you usually need only send the base unit.  If you are unsure of what to send – Just ask.

STEP ONE:  Please drain the SteamKing.  The reservoir (at the top of the unit where you add water) and the Boiler (at the bottom where you perform the drain procedure) should be emptied.

STEP TWO:  Please package your SteamKing well.  The actual rule of thumb for most couriers is that the package should remain intact after a 4 foot drop.  Unnecessary repair issues can occur from broken upper and lower housings, castors and shaken components inside the machine.  Intersteam is not responsible for damage caused by poor packaging or failure to drain the machine prior to shipping.

STEP THREE:  Please call 800-281-4413 to arrange a return shipping waybill.

Then simply call the courier to pick your shipment up.

When we receive the unit we will inspect it, prepare an estimate and call you.  We will never spend a dime of your money without your permission.  We normally inspect the units the day they are received.  We will then call you – so please provide your contact information with your machine unless you have called to arrange your service ahead of time.  We typically perform the service within a day of receiving your permission and courier your unit back to you – good as new.

MOST IMPORTANT – NEVER PUT CHEMICALS IN THE WATER RESERVOIR OF YOUR STEAM CLEANER!!!

Troubleshooting

There are only a few things you can evaluate yourself before having professional service to your equipment.

  1. Electrical Supply – ensure you are plugged directly into a 120V outlet on a dedicated circuit if your machine is heating slowly.  Don’t use extension cords that are thinner than the cord on your machine.  These machines are designed to be connected to a standard 120 volt grounded electrical outlet. You will want to avoid outlets that are on the same circuit as other items that draw a lot of electricity like microwaves, vacuum cleaners and space heaters. If you notice your machine is slow to heat up, please try a different outlet on a different circuit. The extension cord you choose for the steam cleaner should be at least as thick as the cord on the machine. Do not plug your steam cleaner into a power bar of any kind.  You might be surprised at how many outlets are not powerful enough to supply the necessary voltage to power a steam cleaner. This can be in older construction, due to older outlets, due to outlets that are heavily used and worn and in situations where too many outlets have been installed on one circuit. These outlets might serve well for other applications but could be a barrier to your steam cleaner heating and operating efficiently.
  2. Drain the Boiler – you should be able to drain a full boiler worth of water from the boiler drain.  The water that drains should look like…water.  If it is dark, cloudy, gritty, smelly – you should look into filling and draining it again to flush it out, performing the vinegar treatment and ensuring that all users are educated on the fact that only tap water should go into the boiler.
  3. Drain the Reservoir – It is important to only fill your steam cleaner with regular tap water. Cold water is best and hot water will not assist in faster heat up time. Distilled water will cause the boiler to overfill and result in no steam being produced due to the lack of minerals present.  If your machine is not building pressure, calling for water even when the reservoir is full or only dispensing lukewarm water from the hose, you should definitely try to drain the water from the boiler and reservoir and starting over with regular, cold tap water.
  4. Steam Leaking – if your hose handle is hot or you have steam leaking at points where it shouldn’t, you should check the o-rings. Allowing steam to continue to leak at these points can cause excess temperature to build up which can damage the accessory pieces.  The excess heat will also trigger complaints from operators since the hose handle will become too hot to use comfortably.
